Terms

What you agree to when you make an account, in the shortest form we can write it. Printed codes outlive most agreements, so the part that matters most is what happens to yours.

Who you are agreeing with

qurl is run from the United Kingdom. These terms are between your organisation and qurl. The person who makes the account says they may agree on their organisation’s behalf.

What qurl does

qurl gives you QR codes whose destination you can change after they are printed, rules that decide where a scan goes, a map of where codes are placed, and reports on what was scanned. A code sends a person to a destination you choose; qurl does not control what is on the other end.

The free trial

  • 14 days, with no card needed. Nothing is charged, and nothing starts charging on its own when it ends.
  • Up to 25 codes during the trial.
  • When the trial ends, your codes keep sending people where they already send them. You can’t change a destination until a plan starts.

Plans and payment

Prices are shown on the pricing page and are per month, excluding VAT. You can leave at any time; your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for. We will give at least 30 days’ notice before changing a price, and a price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

Your printed codes

A printed code can’t be recalled, so these promises are the ones to hold us to.

  • If your plan lapses or you stop paying, your codes keep sending people to their last destination. They are not switched off and they do not become adverts for anything else.
  • If qurl ever stops trading, you get at least 12 months’ notice, and a CSV of every code and its destination at any time before that.
  • You can point your own domain at your codes, so you are not tied to qurl.co.
  • You can export your codes, destinations and scan totals whenever you like.

What codes may not be used for

Every destination is checked against lists of known harmful sites, and a code may be stopped if it is reported or if its destination is found on one. A code may not send people to anything unlawful, to malware or a scam, to material harmful to children, or to a page pretending to be someone else. Anyone can report a code, including a code that isn’t yours.

If we stop a code we will tell the workspace’s Owner why, and you can reply. We stop single codes rather than whole accounts wherever we can.

Your data

qurl records each scan with a rough area and the type of phone, uses the IP address for a moment without keeping it, and saves nothing on the phone. What is kept and for how long is in the privacy page, and the agreement for schools and businesses is the data processing agreement. Your codes, destinations and scan records are yours; qurl uses them to run your codes and show you your figures, and for nothing else.

Keeping it running

Scans are what has to keep working, so redirects run on more than one machine and are watched. We don’t promise a figure for uptime yet; when we do it will be written here rather than left to a sales conversation. Planned work that could interrupt scans is announced in advance.

Ending it

You can close your workspace at any time from your account. Your codes stop resolving 30 days after you close it, so a printed code doesn’t fail the same afternoon; export what you need first. We may end an account that is used for something in the list above, or that is not paid for, with notice and a chance to put it right.

If something goes wrong

If qurl’s mistake costs you money, what we owe is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before. Nothing here limits anything that can’t lawfully be limited. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters to you, we will tell the workspace’s Owner by email at least 30 days before, and the date below changes. Carrying on using qurl after that means the new terms apply.

These terms are dated 12 October 2026.
